Intro.exe

You can call me Fung.

I’m a totally normal 20-something living in the so-called USA.

I’m also an absolutely abnormal 20-something living with multiple mental illnesses while this capitalist hellscape comes crashing down around my ears…

This is my blog, I guess. Get ready for some 2014-era Tumblr bullshit. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

God, I’m too old for this…

Ephemera Pt. 2

Jun 11, 2025

My printer finally gave out. I got it years ago, and it’s served me well (enough), but it stopped connecting to the internet (an issue that, annoyingly, persisted with the new one and was solved by a thousand-year-old forum post [if anyone’s wondering, EPSON printers can’t find WiFi names that have special characters, that was the issue]). It also just got slow and weird. ANYWAYS… I got a new printer–an EPSON EcoTank–and found out that it has a 1200 DPI scanner!

Ephemera

May 10, 2025

I love ephemera. I always have. I used to pick up receipts on the ground, collect bottle caps, grab subway cards from the wastebasket. Now I collect digital scans of things (not many yet, I’m afraid, or else I’d share the collection). Anyway, I just want to shout out a great ephemera-centric blog that I love perusing. Link below. Ipod Updates Part 2

Feb 5, 2025

I got the iPod working! Very exciting news for all you blog readers out there, I’m sure. Anyways, I bought another broken iPod Mini, hoping that the things broken about it were different than the one I was trying to fix. Turns out, the gamble paid off! The new iPod Mini had a screwed up case, and I had to literally hit it with a chisel to disassemble it, but the case was one of the things I was definitely keeping from the old ‘Pod (it’s pink, so you know I gotta keep it).

Ipod Update

My iPods came! And they’re both broken… One of them I knew was broken, and I was hoping to fix it. Instead, I broke it more by slicing the cord from the click wheel. So now the hold button is stuck, and the click wheel is nonfunctional. Yay! The other iPod was supposed to work, but I have found out that the battery is dead. So it works plugged in, but not unplugged.

New Year, New Hate For Social Media

Jan 27, 2025

So as you might assume from the other posts on this blog, I have an ever-growing dislike of social media, streaming, and the like. This is a short blog post about one new thing I hate: Pinterest Ads I’ve known that Pinterest is adding more advertisements in each scroll, but so far, although annoying, it hasn’t been enough to make me want to leave the platform. That’s changed. I scrolled once and saw three ads stacked on top of each other.

Heating Costs

Jan 26, 2025

Heating my house is expensive. My winter heating bill was twice what it is in the summer. And as an energy-concious human being, and someone who doesn’t like paying more money than I have to to a greedy, government-sanctioned monopoly, I’m trying to find ways to lower my heating cost. These are mainly based on Low Tech Magazine, a great website (which is solar powered, I might add). I also have their book Heating People, not Spaces which has been very good for this task as well.

Blog Updates & iPod Purchases

Jan 24, 2025

Blog Updates Alright, so here’s what I did with the blog: Changed right-side padding on blog posts for shorter line lengths and easier reading. Removed post-box outline Added resizing text to posts for ease-of-use Changed lightest color to lighter in order to increase contrast and match WCAG AAA requirements. iPod Purchases I did it, y’all! I bought an iPod on eBay – a second generation Nano. It’s got a smaller screen than the later nanos, which I’m hoping will abate any problems with the battery expanding, as other versions of the nano frequently get screen issues when the battery expand even a little bit.

On Media Consumption in 2025

Jan 21, 2025

For a while, I have disliked the way I consume media. I use spotify for music, I’ve used a mix of legally obtained digital files and streaming services for movies and TV, and physical books for, well, books. But I haven’t been too happy with the way any of these things worked together. Last year I bought a Kobo, and started reading both e-books and classic books, which I really enjoyed.
